In the Works…

In the Works…

So I just finished two horror drabbles titled “Show Time” about a killer clown and “The Chewing” about what happens to us when we get old, that I’ve submitted to KJK Publishing for inclusion in their 100 Word Horrors Book 3. I have a third one I’ve been working on called “In Dreams” but it hasn’t worked itself out yet and I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to submit any at all, so I just sent the first two for now. We’ll see what happens. Fingers crossed!

I’ve also been working on a dark Christmas story called “Santa’s Cookies” that I was hoping to get finished in time to submit to Black Hare Press for their Eerie Christmas special… but I’m starting to worry I won’t finish it in time. Same thing with the piece I’ve been working on for Dragon Soul Press for their Coffins & Dragons theme anthology. The deadline for that is in about 10 days, and I just don’t think I’ll make it.

BUT because I don’t like to be all “doom and gloom” about things, I’m going to try to look at this from a positive perspective. Even if I miss the deadlines for these two pieces, I still have every intention on finishing them. And I’m SURE there will be other opportunities to find them a good home. Christmas will be here before ya know it, and there’s likely to be plenty of publishers calling for creepy Christmas stories. And there are ALWAYS Fantasy submissions.

Other than writing, I’ve been working on edits for a new book over at Fantasia Divinity, and it’s a big one: over 10,000 words. Gonna be a good one, though. Can’t wait to see it in print!
