Drabble Babble

Drabble Babble

I’ve been immersing myself in the writing world for quite some time, yet I’d never heard of a DRABBLE until I came across Black Hare Press.

A drabble is a 100 word story (no more, no less) that must have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Sounds easy, but as I’ve learned from writing them, it can be challenging to pull of well.

Black Hare Press was looking for drabbles for their dark fiction series and I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I’d come a little late to the game, so I didn’t get to submit for the first three anthologies they’d put out calls for (Worlds, Angels and Monsters) but I still wanted to try my luck with the rest.

I submitted three pieces for consideration for their Beyond Anthology and was BEYOND EXCITED (get it? ha) to have two of the three accepted for publication. My included stories are “Moving On” and “Running Late”.

Beyond is expected to release on September 3, 2019.

Once I started writing them, I couldn’t stop! Black Hare Press’ next drabbles call was for their Unravel anthology. I wrote and submitted three pieces and this time, got them all in! Eeee! My stories included are “The Hook Up”, “Duty Calls”, and “My Sweet Emma”.

Unravel is expected to release on September 17, 2019.

As short as they are, I’m still really proud of the micro-fiction I’ve created and super grateful to have them accepted for publication by the crew over at Black Hare Press.

Can’t wait to get these babies into my hands, and onto my bookshelf! And I’m excited to read all the other stories included from the rest of the amazingly talented authors who are a part of this series!
